The first Service Pack for Smap3D Plant Design 2026 has been released. In addition to numerous optimizations, this update focuses on the further modernization of the user interface as well as targeted functional enhancements in the modules Smap3D Piping, Smap3D Isometric and Smap3D Bending Simulation.
Further Development of the Modern User Interface
The gradual modernization of the user interface began with Smap3D Plant Design 2025 through the introduction of modern user interface controls. This approach was continued in Smap3D Plant Design 2026. With the new Service Pack 1, additional applications have now been fully converted to the modern user interface:
- Isometric
- PCF Export
- Bending Simulation
- PIEPFAB Connect
- Pipe Specification Editor – Common Settings
Users now benefit from a modern, consistent look and feel across even more areas of the software, along with the ability to customize color schemes and themes to their personal preferences.
Smap3D Piping: Enhancements in the Pipe Specification Editor
Several enhancements have been made to the Pipe Specification Editor. The common settings now support sorting and custom ordering of Keynames. In addition, two new options have been introduced: 'Size for preview pipe' and 'Shape for preview pipe' allow for more precise previews directly within the editor.
Also new is a context menu in the VC section of the Piping application: when a piping path is selected, the assigned pipe specification can be opened directly in the Pipe Specification Editor — without having to go through the application settings.
Smap3D Isometric and Smap3D Bending Simulation: Targeted Improvements
The settings pages of Smap3D Isometric now make use of larger controls — for example in the style selection in step 3. This improves clarity and simplifies navigation, especially in complex configurations. On the 'Output Mapping' tab under Isometric Options, users can now select from existing feature names instead of entering them manually.
In Smap3D Bending Simulation, it is now possible to select the desired pipes before running the simulation. This makes it easier to control the scope of the simulation and allows relevant pipelines to be checked more efficiently.
