The first service pack for Smap3D Plant Design 2025 for SOLIDWORKS, Inventor and Solid Edge has been released. In addition to minor optimizations, the latest update also offers interesting new functions. We would like to introduce you to two of these functions:
Smap3D Piping: New tab “Branch table”
Users can now define and edit how pipe specification contents are specifically displayed and filtered for branches. If the tab is activated, the specific cell view is loaded according to the diameter values activated in the diameter range. If branch components are already defined in the Contents tab for the corresponding key names and diameters, these are displayed as colored cells according to the editor settings. If abbreviations have been defined, these are displayed in the cells instead of the key names. You can also define for which QuickPlace method (with corresponding key names) the contents are to be displayed in the branch table. When a cell is selected, the defined content is listed in the area below the cell view as content row(s). Editing the individual values – with the exception of the key name – is possible either in the row view or in the Details pane. New content can be added to a cell using various add functions via the context menu. Each branch component defined in this way is automatically inserted and displayed as a new row in the Contents tab.
Smap3D Isometric: Display all pipelines in one drawing if possible
If the setting is active, Smap3D Isometric will attempt to create a single drawing containing all pipelines. If the option is not selected, a separate drawing is created for each pipeline path. The Split by sub-assembly sub-option causes the isometric drawing to be split according to the contents of existing sub-assemblies, even if their pipe paths are connected to each other. The sub-option Branching and reducing fittings on both drawings is only available if the main option Attempt to generate single drawing is NOT activated. If Branching and reducing fittings on both drawings is activated, existing branch and reducer fittings are displayed on all isometric drawings (of the main and branch pipeline).
