Stirred not shaken: EKATO SYSTEMS digitizes pipeline engineering and fabrication
Whether creams, toothpaste or shampoo – in the personal care and cosmetics industry, nothing really works without the mixing systems from EKATO SYSTEMS. Together with Smap3D and its partners in the Connected Pipeshop Alliance, T-Drill and Pipe Bending Systems, the family-owned company took a decisive step into the digital future: Pipeline engineering and fabrication has been completely digitized with our integrated Smap3D solution – from flow diagrams and 3D design to automated manufacturing. Name, website, logo – relaunch in 2025
In 2025, Smap3D has visibly set its course for the future: new name, new logo, new website – while maintaining familiar strength. As Smap3D GmbH, we now stand for comprehensive software solutions for engineering and fabrication. Our modernized website shows more clearly than ever how our software makes your processes more consistent, efficient, and intuitive. Among other things, you will also find new application videos illustrating the CAD integrated planning of black steel pipe systems, Jacob pipes, or the creation of hygienic, aseptic, and maritime piping systems. Smap3D is part of the Connected Pipeshop Alliance
Together with our long-standing partners Pipe Bending Systems, Polysoude and T-Drill, we launched the Connected Pipeshop Alliance in April 2025. The aim of this alliance is to provide a fully integrated, digitally networked solution for pipeline and plant engineering. We can already look back on a number of successful projects, such as with EKATO. In addition, the Alliance made joint appearances at trade fairs such as FABTECH and SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN and held live workshops with numerous interested companies. Connection to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
Another milestone in 2025 was the successful connection of Smap3D Plant Design to Dassault Systèmes' 3DEXPERIENCE platform! SOLIDWORKS users can now seamlessly manage their CAD data throughout the entire planning process – from P&ID and 3D piping to isometrics – all within a unified, collaborative environment.
