Since 1965, Carotek has grown from a one-man sales team to a family of 170 associates: Carotek designs and fabricates process automation skids for manufacturing plants and provides them to a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, food & beverage, utilities, chemicals, and water & wastewater. Each project is highly customized and must meet complex requirements.
Challenge
With growing expertise and highly customized projects, the parallel CAD systems used at Carotek reached their limits due to the lack of a consistent design workflow. The goal was therefore to shorten design times while ensuring a consistent, consistent database across all projects.
Solution
With Smap3D Plant Design, Carotek established a CAD-integrated, parametric solution that combines P&ID, 3D piping design, isometrics, and steel construction in a consistent environment, which now forms the central design and manufacturing workflow.
