3D-Layout Planning: CAD for Factory Layouts

Smap3D Layout Planning is a specialized 3D application to accelerate the process of planning machine and factory layouts. The application focuses on saving as much information as possible directly in the software, allowing for a smooth transition in the case of employee changes etc.

With Smap3D Layout Planning it is possible for an employee with little knowledge of CAD to create a layout consisting of high quality 3D models that can be used for many different purposes:

- Virtual 3D models of complex layouts are a huge benefit to sales personnel. They enable potential customers to see a detailed 3D model of the proposed layout before any contracts need to be signed. Photo-realistic images or animation can be created relatively easily, providing a big advantage over the competition.

- BOM: With Smap3D Layout Planning you can create a detailed Bill of Materials with the press of a button, providing a basis for price calculations etc.

Application Overview:

SmartWork	SmartWork is the base-technology for Smap3D Layout Planning. This is used to define rules: which parts can be placed where and how. SmartWork contains QuickSelect and QuickPlace; modules for defining the rules of selection (which parts fit together) and rules for placing (how the parts fit together).
ModuleDesigner	An interactive product configurator. With module designer machines can be quickly created using a pre-defined logic. Components can only be assembled if they logically fit together.
LayoutEditor	With Smap3D LayoutEditor creating 3D models of complex factory layouts is child’s play. This software is optimized for making layouts consisting of different machines connected with conveyors.
MAConfigurator	The Smap3D MasterAssembly (MA) is an extension available for LayoutEditor. It contains special functions for defining inclines in the conveyor paths, and also for the automatic calculation of the correct length for the conveyor supports.
